![]() ![]() ![]() Sea Treader herds tend to migrate between the fields within the Sea Treader's Path, never staying in any specific area for long periods of time, as well as traveling through the large cave located in the Sea Treader's Path. They will place their beak into the ground and start moving it for a while to munch on seagrass or other flora.Įach time the Sea Treader takes a step, it may spawn 0-3 Shale Outcrops that will slowly sink back into the ground after a short amount of time. Sea Treaders occasionally stop on their track to either defecate (dropping its feces in the process), or to graze. Sea Treaders often gather into herds, keeping the smaller ones in the middle of the pack, while the larger ones stay on the outside. If the player tries to swim in front of it, the creature will attack them by pecking or swinging its beak, removing 40% of their health bar. The Sea Treader walks slowly and passively around its paths, constantly emitting loud, echoing calls. Smaller Sea Treaders also appear from time to time, being smaller versions of the adults and following 1-2 of them at a time, suggesting that they are juveniles. The Sea Treader's main body is mostly blue, decorated with bright bioluminescent orange patterns.Īn image in the data bank entry shows that Sea Treaders have compound eyes. These feelers run along its entire body, and end in two bumps at its rear. Two large feelers protrude from its underside and extend upwards, growing on either side of its head. The Sea Treader's head features two pairs of large and small eyes. ![]() Its front "leg" is, in fact, the creature's head, mouth and/or "beak", also segmented and foldable for moving around. Its body consists of a large torso with long, double-jointed back legs. The Crabsquid frequently emits loud clicking sounds. The Sea Treader has three sizes small, medium and large. Crabsquids are also among the few creatures that can damage a Cyclops: while the damage they deal is fairly low and it takes repeated hits to achieve hull damage, their EMP attack still works on the vehicle and its low speed can make it tricky to get away. If the player approaches the Crabsquid in the Seamoth within its line of sight, the creature will chase the submersible a short distance and attack, with each hit taking off 20% of the vehicle's health. If a vehicle is affected by the EMP, its on-board Oxygen production will temporarily cease. In terms of game mechanics, this temporarily reduces the charge of any Battery or Power Cell affected to 0%: after a short time, it will be restored to its original level. The electromagnetic pulses are emitted as a highly concentrated ring-shape of green-colored electricity. The Prawn Suit is particularly susceptible to Crabsquid attacks as it is the only vehicle that cannot turn off its lights. ![]() Crabsquids also will physically attack light sources (such as vehicles and seabases) by slashing them with their legs. These factors makes it ill-advised to build near an area inhabited by Crabsquids or leave vehicles near Crabsquids. If light is shone at a Crabsquid they will retaliate with an EMP blast, temporarily disabling electronics, vehicles and Seabase power. However, using a vehicle's light will usually end up with the Crabsquid disabling it. Similar to the Boneshark, the Crabsquid is attracted to light and will follow certain light sources, meaning that it can be distracted using lights from the Cyclops, Seamoth, Prawn Suit, Seaglide, Flashlight or Flares. It can also be observed catching and eating smaller fauna, and attacking Warpers. Upon being approached, the creature will launch an attack, dealing 40 damage to the player. The Crabsquid swims by continuously inflating and deflating its transparent membrane, allowing for sudden bursts of movement, however it can also walk around on the seabed using its two sets of four legs. The two shortest limbs near its mouth form a pair of comparably small pincers of which it uses to attack by raising its legs. Its ten limbs are brown-colored and smooth. The Crabsquid's legs resemble those of a horseshoe crab, though tipped with small fins. The Crabsquid's head consists of four, large blue eyes with black pupils and an oddly shaped mandible below them. Its muscular and defined body is done better than David from Michelangelo. But the level of detail in this picture.im not playing the game anymore. Havent been close enough to see much detail due to being scared. The Crabsquid's main body has two layers: a translucent, bulbous sac resembling a comb jellyfish's body, and a hard brown green body within, similar to that of a real life squid's mantle. After seeing this, i am now TERRIFIED of reaper leviathans. ![]()
